They cut through the water without any noticeable deviation caused by crosswinds.  These canoes are significantly narrower than the all-round canoes. Beginners will need some time to adjust, but if the canoe is primarily used on flat, calm water, even beginners will get much enjoyment from a flatwater canoe.
